The following is what I am suppose to respond to this week: Post your thoughts and ideas about how you will use the GAME plan process with your students to help them develop proficiency in the technology standards and indicators outlined in the NETS-S. Reach out to your colleagues in this learning community for assistance if needed.
After reviewing the NETS-T and the NETS-S I can see how very similar they are and how they align with one another. It is very important for us as teachers to help our students make a game plan that go along with these standards to prepare them for their future. To help them come up with their own game plan, I would show them a few of the standards that I think they should focus on and have them come up with two goals they want to focus on for the year. Since they are so young I would give the students different activities that could help them with their goals. Of course, the students would need to be guided through this whole process throughout the year.
I feel that it is so important for students to set goals that focus on technology with the way the world is ever changing with technology. It is also important for the students to help plan their own goals so they have ownership of what they are focusing on. Just like we set our on goals for our game plan.

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great start to have students self select two goals to work on for the year. Do you think that your students will end up revising their GAME plans and adding more goals when they accomplish these?
Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI will have them add more goals as they accomplish the ones they set. I can see my higher students having more than two goals throughout the year.
Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteIt is very important to expose our student to those NET standards and prepare them for the future that will be driven by technology.
I also want to create GAME plan for my students so maybe that is something that we can work on together. I think if we start out having them develop a simple GAME plan and then track their progress it will be a great experience for them.
